Police bust illegal gambling sites Tuesday, 04.07.2009, 08:02pm (GMT) HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton Police raided three stores late Friday night for illegal gambling, seizing more than 100 computers and $18,000. The raid resulted from a month-long investigation into illegal computer gambling. Police executed the first search warrant at Internet Time, located in the 1900 block of E. Pembroke Avenue. There they seized 60 computer gaming systems and $7,256. Police served the second search warrant at Hampton Roads Billiard, located in the 1300 block of E. Pembroke Avenue. Seized from that business were 18 video slot machines and $880. Yvonne Worth, a 45-year-old Hampton resident, was issued a summons for one count of accessory to gambling. Rodshad Highsmith-Bowser, a 19-year-old Hampton man, was a patron inside and issued a summons for one count of possession of marijuana. The third search warrant was served at Movie Play, located in the 1100 block of N. King Street. Seized from that business were 24 video slot machines, $10,847 and various electronic equipment. Randy Allen Dillon, 52, of Wallace Road, was arrested and charged with one count of conducting an illegal gambling operation Police said the investigation into all three businesses continues with further arrests and charges expected. |
